Jenny Hall: Founder and CEO of FIG

Jenny has been in the industry for more than 20 years and established Financial Insight and Guidance (FIG) in 2006 in Cape Town. Before establishing her own company, she founded and was a shareholder and Managing Director for Grant Thornton Financial Services for nine years until 2005.

From 1978 to 1997, she enjoyed success working at Commercial Union Life Assurance Company, where she was awarded the First Female Broker Consultant for three years running, First Female Branch Manager, Regional Manager trophy and Senior Regional Manager in 1994. She has served as Chairperson of the Regional Council of LUASA, which is a professional body that Independent financial advisors subscribe to, and also served on the board of this committee for a term of two years. She is bound by the code of ethics as laid down by this body.

LUASA has bestowed upon Jenny several Gold awards for production and quality of production. LUASA has since merged into the current FIA. As an Independent Licensed Advisor, Jenny embraces the Regulatory requirements that guide Financial Planning and FIG has been established as such. Whilst protecting independence, Jenny recognises that specialised actions can be required for clients and she has teamed up with various recognised professional service providers to fulfill Estate planning, Business Risk planning and Investment requirements.

Denise de Beer – Administrator

Denise de Beer started her career at Southern Life in 1981, working as an employee benefits administrator.  In 1983, she moved to work in the banking industry, at Trust Bank (now known as ABSA), and her responsibilities included being a Teller Supervisor, a team leader and managing the Foreign Exchange section.  She then joined Alexander Forbes in, where she worked as an Administrator. She was later promoted to being a Team Leader, but left in April 2008 to start working as an Administrator for Independent brokers, of which FIG was a client.  Her responsibilities at FIG cover most aspects of Employee Benefits.

Michelle Hey - Administrator

Michelle Hey is a licensed Financial Advisor, who started her career at Southern Unit Trusts in 1990. After various promotions within Southern Unit Trust and Southern Life, she then resigned in 1996 to start a brokerage with colleagues from Southern Life, where she was the practice manager for 11 years. Due to the implementation of FAIS and FICA Legislation, she recognised a need in the market for an administrative hub of Independent Financial Advisors and in April 2007 started an Outsourced Administrative Company.  She offers professional, compliant, efficient back office support to independent Financial Advisors of which FIG is one of her clients.

Faiza Stevens – Administrator and Personal Assistant

For the past nine years, Faiza has worked for three different companies being an administrator and personal assistant. She has worked in the property, banking and financial advisory sectors. In 2009, she completed the RFP1 National Certificate in Wealth Management which she applies in her daily tasks. She has a diploma in Office and Business Administration and has successfully applied all learnt skills and knowledge to her work.

Benita Wardle - Bookkeeper

Benita Wardle is a qualified Bookkeeper. In April 1999, she established her own business after years of experience in the accounting and admin field since 1985. She has rendered her services on a consulting basis to FIG since 2007. On a monthly basis, she maintains the salaries, commission schedules and Quickbooks accounting functions, as well as liaises with their auditors at financial year end. She is highly self-motivated, methodical and energetic.
